Alpha
Alpha is a 10 week course that gives people a chance to explore the real meaning of life. The course looks at the main beliefs of the faith, and offers plenty of opportunity for debate and discussion. Each evening begins with a meal in the Old Vicarage.
Further details about Alpha can be found on the national Alpha website. (see our 'Resources' page link to Alpha Resources). Do contact us about the next course. We would be delighted to have you come. The next available course is advertised on the 'home' page "News" column and often on a banner outside the church on Canterbury Street.

Just People from Community Mission (a partnership started by Tearfund and Livability)
In January 2011 St Mark’s members met in small groups to explore the Just People course. Just People is a six-week interactive course that brings together down-to-earth theology, reflection, inspiration and experience with practical exercises. It will help us as church to grapple with issues of justice and poverty and think practically about how we can respond effectively as an integral part of our mission. Click on Just People explained Just People for more information on the thoughts behind the course, films and other additional recourses. The course is also supported by the Micah Challenge UK Micah Challenge, a coalition of Christian organisations and churches in Britain, united in their concern to fight poverty.
