This page has pictures of various documents and magazine covers,
going back to the Consecration Document dated 1866.

You can click on the pictures to see them in more detail.
One Two Three Four
St. Mark's Consecration Document (4KB) MagCover December 1866 (6KB) St. Mark's Magazine Cover July 1941 (6KB) St. Mark's Magazine Cover June 1951 (5KB)

The picture (above one) is of the Consecration Document. the original document was in a very
poor condition.
I have included it as it represents a major part of our heritage here at St. Mark's.
Rev. Alfred Willis, was the first Vicar at St. Mark's when it opened.

The picture (above two) is of a magazine cover dating back to December 1866, just 8 months
after the Church had opened. Surprisingly it is in quite good condition.  Rev. Alfred Willis, was
the Vicar when this magazine was produced.

As you can see the picture (above three) is a very early magazine cover.  Again in very poor
condition. If you look at the picture in the middle you can see it has been taken from the original
Consecration Document.  Rev. Levi Howland, was the Vicar when this magazine was produced.
St. Mark's magazine is growing and evolving. This  magazine cover (above four) is from June 1951.

Rev. Dawson-Bowling, was the Vicar when this magazine produced.

Five Six Nine
St. Mark's Commersial School October 1866 (5KB) St. Mark's Boys School 1929 (10KB) Scale of Charges for attending school (75KB)

The picture (above five) is from the St. Mark's Parish Magazine December 1866.  It gives some
information about St. Mark's Commercial School, what they would  be taught and how much it
would cost.  Rev. Alfred Willis, was the Vicar.

The Master, was Mr. John Bush.  The school opened in 1864, with the aim of furnishing a Liberal
English and Commercial Education on a sound religious basis, in accordance with the teaching
of the English Church.

I like this picture, (above six), again, taken from a newspaper. It looks like a regular rogues gallery.
It is a picture taken of  some boys in the playground of St. Mark's Boy's School in 1929.  This
picture came from a newspaper in 1984.

The picture (nine) is the scale of charges for attending St. Mark's Church Of England School for
Boys and Girls.  The school opened in 1862.  It is worth reading the text in the picture.

Seven Eight
 St. Mark's Wrought Iron Screen (6KB) Children's Church 1954 (12KB)

I have included the picture (above seven) taken  from the Kent Messenger
newspaper dated October 1961. As it shows the wrought iron screen, which
was taken down during the refit in the 1980's. The quality  is poor due to the
picture being taken from a newspaper.

The picture (above eight) is of the Children's Church, taken at Harvest 1954.
Frederick Arthur Gadd, was the Vicar when this picture was taken.
