Medway Celebrate Logo 3 (7KB)- general information

Medway Celebrate is an inter-church worship and outreach service held every Wednesday lunchtime from 12.45 – 13.30 at The Emmaus Church Centre, Clover Street, Chatham. Each week we invite guest worship leaders (many of whom are well known and respected Christian singer / songwriters) to lead our meeting and encourage us to stand together as members of the same family of God.

We aim to serve Christians working in the Chatham town centre, acting as a midweek spiritual ‘oasis’ and a place to bring along interested work colleagues to hear more about the Gospel.

We also seek to both encourage and resource prayer / CU groups in the town’s business houses, shops etc. and would love to hear from any folk currently working in the area in this respect.

Tea and coffee are available before and after the meetings during which you are welcome to eat your lunch.

Medway Celebrate is funded by voluntary donations, please do prayerfully consider partnering us in these ventures. Each month Medway Celebrate directly supports missionary work in Uganda, where our financial giving has helped plant and establish the “Celebration Church” in Agwata

Medway Celebrate gave gifts and provided support for this wonderful work amongst our dear brothers and sisters in Uganda to the tune of £742 (some 15% of our total income) during this past year. We feel privileged to be in relationship with these folk, some of whom were with us at Priestfield and would encourage you to prayerfully consider supporting this ministry.

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceable and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.  This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all men to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth.”

The aim of the Medway Prayer Net is the formation of a network of believers into prayer lighthouses through the Neighbourhood Watch & Pray scheme, irrespective of denomination or location, whose desire is to be linked in prayer to see the Medway Towns reached with the Gospel.  As we begin to pray in agreement together for our Towns and specifically our neighbours, we create a ‘tapestry’ of prayer in which each prayer lighthouse shines like a beacon to the lost around it.  We are committing to pray that God will change the face of the Towns through our decision to fulfil His command to love one another and to love our neighbours - that others may know the truth of who He is.  This love is a choice and it never fails.

Details of the Watch & Pray can be obtained by writing to

Medway Celebrate Logo 5 (3KB) aims to be linked in prayer to see the Medway Towns reached for the Gospel.

PRAYER LIGHTHOUSE TESTIMONIES

Medway Celebrate Logo 6 (9KB)
Medway Celebrate Logo 7 (5KB) Medway Celebrate Logo 7 (5KB)

We will all have our own testimonies of what has or has not yet happened around the area we live and amongst our neighbours but two folk have shared with us how this year both had the most wonderful privilege of leading a close relative to Jesus in their own lighthouses of prayer. To the many of us that have loved ones outside the Kingdom we thank God for these conversions and are encouraged to continue in our neighbourhood prayer.

Are you aware of other close neighbours who are believers? If so, might we encourage you to share times of prayer with them for the road(s) in which you live? In the small estate (162 homes) where I live, nine of us from five different congregations gather just one evening a month to pray for those whom we live amongst. We have now had some direct prayer requests from our neighbours, have all drawn closer to each other and the rest of the estate during the past eight months and are now actively inviting other neighbours to come to these gatherings. From small acorns ...
