Children and young people are important to us at St.
Mark's
and as such we aim to provide the best for them.
We have a large, committed group of leaders and lots of fun
activities-however old you are!
This is how our groups work on a
Sunday morning to help our children grow in their relationships with each
other and God.
Everyone now begins in the Old Vicarage having an opportunity to wander
around play games, do crafts, play football and catch up with friends.
We then split into age groups for looking at the Bible and applying this to
their lives.
For the last 20 minutes we meet altogether for a worship time, before
walking down to church.
Please speak to any of the leaders if you wish to know more.
Consent Forms - each year we
need to complete a new consent forms. Please return them to ASAP Sarah
or Jo in church or
you can download a form from
here (rtf 158kb
virus free).
You can return it by email too. Click here to

This document has come about as a result of prayer and discussion amongst
the Youth & Children’s leaders.
There are three main areas which are naturally interlinked, these are:
DISCIPLESHIP:
We are nurturing
children and young people to be strong, secure and growing in a
relationship with a God who loves them. To be a people of living faith
in a God who changes lives.
“To be more
than spectators but in on the action”
COMMUNITY:
We are creating a
place where all are accepted and part of a living , growing “family”.
“The believers met together
and shared everything they praised Godand were liked by all
people” Acts 2”
OUTREACH:
SharingGod’slove with friends and families.
‘Come and taste that the Lord is good”
From these main areas we have come up with the key areas for the way
forward over the next couple of years. As a youth and children’s
team we wilt work in consultation with the church leadership to develop
our youth and children’s work in the way we believe God is leading.
Please feel free to chat to me (Sarah) about this, to pray for us or’ even
join the team. We are in exciting times!
At St Mark’s we are privileged to already have a thriving youth and
children’s work, which nurtures our children and young people. These
points below are areas we believe God is calling us to extend,
particularly work with families. (see later)
Main
points of action plan:-
DISCIPLESHIP
Children & young people
involved in “doing”- taking part in services and church life.
Cells - developing cell
model throughout youth & children’s groups.
Prayer - extend this in
groups, team and church.
Faith shaping
experiences - children & young people puffing faith into action.
18-25’S group for those
moving on from Landmark.
Team - providing
training and recruiting more personnel.
Spiritual foster
parents” — as a church we are all these, therefore building
relationships with children and young people.
COMMUNITY
To continue to build
sense of community amongst children & young people through joint
activities and socials
To make children and
young people feel welcome in church
Extra team to provide
social activities for church to include children and young people.
OUTREACH
Creating opportunities to
share lives, particularly reaching out to families of children and young
people.
Team to create social
opportunities to befriend families
