Everyone now begins in the Old Vicarage having an opportunity to wander around play games, do crafts, play football and catch up with friends.
We then split into age groups for looking at the Bible and applying this to their lives.
For the last 20 minutes we meet altogether for a worship time, before walking down to church.
Please speak to any of the leaders if you wish to know more.

ST MARK’S YOUTH & CHILDREN’S WORK VISION

This document has come about as a result of prayer and discussion amongst the Youth & Children’s leaders.
There are three main areas which are naturally interlinked, these are:
DISCIPLESHIP:
bulletWe are nurturing children and young people to be strong, secure and growing in a relationship with a God who loves them. To be a people of living faith in a God who changes lives.

“To be more than spectators but in on the action”

COMMUNITY:
bulletWe are creating a place where all are accepted and part of a living , growing “family”.

“The believers met together and shared everything they praised God and were liked by all people” Acts 2”

OUTREACH:

bulletSharing God’s love with friends and families

‘Come and taste that the Lord is good”

From these main areas we have come up with the key areas for the way forward over the next couple of years. As a youth and children’s team we wilt work in consultation with the church leadership to develop our youth and children’s work in the way we believe God is leading.

Please feel free to chat to me (Sarah) about this, to pray for us or’ even join the team. We are in exciting times!

At St Mark’s we are privileged to already have a thriving youth and children’s work, which nurtures our children and young people. These points below are areas we believe God is calling us to extend, particularly work with families. (see later)

Main points of action plan:-
DISCIPLESHIP
bulletChildren & young people involved in “doing”- taking part in services and church life.
bulletCells - developing cell model throughout youth & children’s groups.
bulletPrayer - extend this in groups, team and church.
bulletFaith shaping experiences - children & young people puffing faith into action.
bullet18-25’S group for those moving on from Landmark.
bulletTeam - providing training and recruiting more personnel.
bulletSpiritual foster parents” — as a church we are all these, therefore building relationships with children and young people.
COMMUNITY
bulletTo continue to build sense of community amongst children & young people through joint activities and socials
bulletTo make children and young people feel welcome in church
bulletExtra team to provide social activities for church to include children and young people.
OUTREACH
bullet

Creating opportunities to share lives, particularly reaching out to families of children and young people.

bulletTeam to create social opportunities to befriend families
